8 Steps To Launch a Business Idea

It is easier to have an idea than to implement it

Although ideas come into our minds every day, studies have shown that only 20% of theses ideas are eventually executed. I am sure you must have experienced a case of 'stolen ideas' where you have an idea, romanticize about it, but end up doing nothing about it. Only for you to wake up one day to see someone already implementing that idea. That is because, your idea is not peculiar to you. That idea you have been having for long, over a thousand people are having it too. What makes the difference among everyone with the same idea is implementation.

  • Step one- Write it down: This is because, whatever you commit on paper has a higher probability to come to past than what you dont. This same principle is applied to goal setting. It has worked for high profile people including me. So, when next a business idea comes to you, the first thing you should do is put it on paper  instead of calling your friend to spill everything out.
  • Step two- Apply Speed of implementation: The speed of implementation (SOI) is a powerful business building practice you can exercise immediately. It does not need extra skills or resources. Just the willingness to develop the habit of acting quickly. In other words, SOI is defined as how FAST you ACT on an idea. You have to act on the business idea as soon as you ddrop your pen down. Take the slightest option to get the business idea into reality. This sets you in motion else you may totally forget about this business. 
  • Step three- Discuss with available mentors or respected friends: Although a business plan might not be necesssary, getting a guide is. These people are the ones that would foresee possible mistakes and correct what needs to be corrected. Do not underestimate their roles in your business. I warn you not to discuss with people that do not believe in you or your dreams because they will kill your business idea in its baby stage.
  • Step four- Map out a business plan: It might not be an official one but be sure to sketch out your business details; the resources you need, capital you need, target customers, the strength, weakness, opportunities and threats (SWOT) of your business, etc. 
  • Step five- Source for your capital: This might be from your savings, family or friends.
  • Step six- Acquire your goods from a relaible supplier: Be sure to make a thorough research before getting your goods or the resources for the business. Make sure that the supplier does not cheat you or sells inferior products to you.
  • Step seven- Advertise: There is no business without customers. You must put yourself out there in the market place. Let people know about what you do. Use word of mouth,design an attractive flier, logo and even do paid online adverts through facebook and instagram.
  • Step eight- Set up an online presence: This is compulsonry- especially in these times that we are in. An online presence is a big step for your business. A business that you can not run online is not worthy to launch in these periods. There is no big deal in opening an instagram account or facebook account specially for your business
